HID/LED projector retrofits replace the reflector with a projector lens, often by opening or cutting the stock headlight housing, or fitting a complete aftermarket headlight assembly. Legal note: This is a grey-to-illegal area. Modifying the headlight housing and fitting non-ARAI/CMVR-approved projector assemblies is treated as an illegal lighting alteration under Section 52 and can attract fines of roughly Rs 1,000-5,000 and possible seizure. Only ARAI-approved projector units fitted without compromising the certified beam pattern are defensible. Get the setup inspected and keep it within legal colour and glare limits. Read more
